When Worship Becomes A Sacrifice

Gen 22:9  Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.
Gen 22:10  And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
Gen 22:11  But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.”
Gen 22:12  And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
Gen 22:13  Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
Gen 22:14  And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”

Beloved I want to share this with you today. When worship becomes a sacrifice. When we look at this scripture we all like to quote the verse where Abraham said to Isaac that the Lord will provide (which He did). But have you ever though about the fact that Abraham had no idea that God will send a ram just in time! He was willing to sacrifice his son in order to please God. He never questioned the instruction given to him. He knew that being obedient to God was more important than anything.

Beloved I believe that it is time for us to start worshipping God with a dagger in our hands! The kind of worship where we take the things in our life that is not pleasing to God to an altar of sacrifice. That place of worship where we don’t care about what people think about us. Where nothing matters more than what you are bringing before the Lord God.

The bible says in Joh4:24  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” How can we worship God in spirit and truth if we have a load of sin in our lives? Sin separates us from the Father (Isa51:2)

Worship should be an act of complete sacrifice, everything we are and everything we have should be placed before our Abba Father. This may not seem like the nice form of worship we are used too. But I assure you it’s the kind of worship God is looking for.

So today when you are in your quite place with God, allow the Holy Spirit to show you what there is in your life that needs to be sacrificed. He will guide you and lead you into a deeper more intense relationship with Father God. And remember: God will always honour obedience.

Have a blessed day! Continue reading “When Worship Becomes A Sacrifice”

There should be fruit

Mat 3:8  Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,

Beloved, I have been sitting with this scripture in my heart for a while.

We as children of God are supposed to bear fruit. Now we all know the fruit of the Spirit as stated in Galatians 5 from verse 22&23

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Gal 5:23  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

But there is more to this that I thought. In Mat 3:8 the bible says that we should also bear fruit that is worthy of repentance. Now this got me thinking, If we say that we are children of God, then why are there so many of us that does not have the fruit worthy of repentance.

This means that whatever we do or say, should be fruit of our repentance. Do you remember the first time you gave your heart to the Lord? You were so in love with Him. You didn’t want to do anything to compromise the relationship you just found in Christ Jesus with the Lord God Almighty.

But as time passes we tend to forget where God has brought us from, and sadly our fruit dries out and sometimes even dies. We start to walk and talk a life that is far from what God desires us to do. We forget that it was by His grace alone that we were saved from our sin.

The thing is, we live amongst people who don’t know God, and what fruit do they see in our lives? Yes we can have the fruit of the Spirit and we should strive to bear those fruit every day. But what about our fruit of repentance?

How will the world that is lost be convicted if our lives is not convicting to them? There is a saying that you may be the only bible that a lost person may read. So why do we not live a live worthy of our repentance? How we act, and what we say are noticed by others and they will remember it.

So today I want to bow my knees and heart low before my Saviour and King Jesus Christ and ask Him to help me bear that fruit.

God bless you!

Remember The Way You Came

dessert pathDeu 8:2  And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Beloved, I want to share this scripture with you today. The Lord tells Israel here that they should remember all the way which He has led them for those forty years in the wilderness.

As I was reading this, a thought dropped into my spirit. I have to remember the all the way the Lord has led me. You see beloved, when we go through trials and tribulations we are always quick to pray and seek the Lord. However, sometimes we forget about the wonders God did for us in those difficult times.

I do believe, that when we think back over the years about how God came through for us, even when it was not how we wanted, we will be greatly blessed and our faith will begin to increase. For God can’t change.

If He did it for you once, He will do it again. We must never forget how far the Lord has brought us in our lives. He is the One constant thing we have. Times change, people change but God remains the same. Yesterday today and tomorrow. He is still the same wonder-working God that He was in the days of Egypt.

He tested Israel to see if they would stay faithful, and we all know that they failed Him many times. How true is that today still, I have failed Him more that I can even remember. Yet He is still in control of my life, and of my future. And He has never left me to wonder the wilderness alone.

If you find yourself in that wilderness, just remember that God may be testing you to see what is in your heart. He want’s to see if we will be faithful to His commandments or not! And if you have failed Him, repent and get up, just like Israel did and prepare to move into your land of milk and honey.

Yes the promised land is not far beloved. Keep pressing forward. Follow God even if nothing makes sense around you. You may loose some friends and family along the way. But God will always be there for you.

Beloved take heart. Think about the things that God has done for you in the past. Begin to praise Him for what He can do in your life right now!

God Bless!

Watch And Pray

Mat 26:41  Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Beloved, sometimes we ask God for certain things in our lives. For me it was for the right man in my life. I wanted a man of God, someone who would serve the Lord with me, and pray and worship with me. Oh how wonderful that must be I thought at the time.

And please don’t get me wrong; it’s what we as woman of God should do.

Unfortunately we have an adversary that also hears when we are praying and he makes quick to try and mislead us if we are not careful. You see in this scripture the Lord Jesus said very clearly that we should WATCH and PRAY.

And this is where I fell out of the boat completely. Shortly after my feverish prayers, someone did come into my life. And oh wow! He was a pastor and just left his job to go into full-time ministry. We met on a farm where there were shelters for homeless people. I ministered to the woman there on Tuesdays, and before I knew it, we were dating. How blessed could we be right? Wrong! Everything looked and felt so right. I mean this is what I prayed for.

Beloved, I never watched! You see the Word of God clearly says that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Mat26:41) and I have to tell you, that my flesh just fell for every word he said to me. Lock stock and barrel.  However the bible also says that our adversary the Devil presents himself as the angel of light (2Co11:14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.) And please I’m not saying he was the Devil, but he uses people just as God does. What I am saying is that I was not watching!! I just assumed that this was it!

So long story short, I had the most horrible marriage you can imagine I was unhappy and guess what? I drifted further and further away from God. Up to the point where I became completely backslidden. I wanted to take my own life! I felt so ugly and useless and Satan convinced me that I have fallen too far for God to even hear me! BUT!!!! I thank God that He never gives up on us!  He stepped in just in time and saved me from the enemy who was too strong for me. We ended up getting divorced and today I am so happy! I am in love with Jesus again. He came to my rescue and He restored my broken vessel of life!

Beloved please, please, please take this message to heart. If you are praying never forget to watch. Make sure you hear God’s voice clearly. Get confirmation in the Word of God, and never ever just assume that something is from God just because it looks so right. Watch and pray and seek the will of God above all else!

God Bless You!

He will complete it!

Beloved I want to share this scripture in Phil 1:6 with you today. The bible says that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it. Now there are many aspects of our lives that we may find where God has started something.

There may be prophetic promises that were spoken over us, or even a ministry that we may be in, that has not yet come to into fulfilment. And I am not talking about some random person speaking something into our lives. I’m talking about that prophetic word you know is straight from the throne room of God!
Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Now let’s just stand still here for a moment. God knows the end from the beginning and He said that He will complete the work He has started in our lives! God knew the days we would fail Him. He saw the days we would feel hopeless and lost. He knew the days we would make mistakes. He even knew the days we would sin and be disobedient, and yet He said He will complete the work in us.

You see beloved, the enemy feeds us the lie that we will never get to the place where God intends for us to be. When we fail, he is quick to tell us that God will not forgive us, or that we have ruined the promise spoken over our lives. And I can say this because I have experienced all these lies first hand.

We must however never lose sight of the fact that God is always on time, but sometimes we make choices that takes us down a road we were not supposed to go. But God is faithful. He will always lead us back to where we should be. It’s not always easy, but if we surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit we will find our way back home.

I had a prophetic word spoken over my life a few years ago, and I have been tested in every way you could imagine. I made some wrong choices and ended up in places and relationships I should never have been in. And at one stage I thought that I’ve messed up so badly that my ministry would never come to pass.

But God is amazing! He took me through all the mess that I have made, and today I am seeing every promise and prophetic word ever spoken over my ministry and my life being fulfilled. I am a living testimony that God will do what He says. He will complete the good work He has started in our lives!

But we have to seek Him, and seek His will for us. Deu4:29 But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Beloved I want to encourage you today, keep on seeking God, keep on believing. He will show up and complete His work in your life!
God Bless You!
