Become a presence chaser!

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence. Acts 2:28

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalms 16:11

Beloved let me share with you what God has laid on my heart today. As I was preparing for work today, I heard the Holy Spirit speaking into my spirit. Be a presence chaser! Now that got me thinking. What does it mean to be a presence chaser? As I started looking for scripture regarding the presence of the Lord,  the reason for this became very clear to me.

The Lord desires for us to come into His presence, to sit with Him and be restored, refreshed and renewed. Someone once said that you will always find first hand revelation in the presence of the Lord. Yes! We can have a new word of revelation directly from the throne room of the Lord God every day! I can honestly say from personal experience that every time I would go into the presence of the Lord, I was indeed restored!

There are many books we can read, and many articles with steps to follow in order to get a fuller life in Christ Jesus. But sometimes we get so busy looking for answers and restoration in all the wrong places. And I am not talking about reading your bible here! That is the Word of God, read your bible more that anything!  God has got so much more for us in His presence beloved. He knows our every need, sees our tears and hears what our hearts are longing for. In His presence you will find times of refreshing (Act 3:20) gladness (Act 2:28) fullness of joy (Ps 16:11) and pleasures forevermore (Ps 16:11)

Nothing you can read in any book, or any article can even come close to being in the presence of the Lord every day. And the amazing thing is, His presence goes with you everywhere you go. Moses spent a lot of time in the presence of the Lord God, and he certainly knew that there was nothing on earth that could compare to that. In Exodus 33 The Lord said to Moses that they could go into the promised land, but God would not go with them. But Moses said to the Lord in verse 15 “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. This man of God knew that he would be lost without the presence of the Almighty God.

Beloved I want to encourage you today to become a presence chaser! Seek the presence of God above all else in your life. He promised in His word that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us! James 4:8  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

God Bless You!

Be a woman of graceful words!

Col 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

Beloved, have you ever been in a situation where you were hearing “stories” or “rumors” going around about either yourself or someone close to you? Stories that had the ability to do a lot of damage, or just a bunch of lies from someone who may have been jealous? Well I have been there recently. I have to admit, I thought it was quite funny that someone had such a wild imagination about my life!

However, things got a little out of hand, I was being approached by people “concerned” about me. Being careful about what I say, I just thanked them for their concern and did not enter into any negative conversation about it. And I have to say, if I did not read this scripture that morning, I may have fallen into the trap set out for me. The Holy Spirit started speaking into my heart. How many times have we been in a situation like this? Where we could choose to be the woman of graceful words or be the woman whose tongue was like a hell fire? Especially if the stories or rumours were concerning ourselves.

It is so easy to get caught up in a nice juicy story about someone, but have we ever considered that our words were like weapons? Our words are seed that we sow? And we know that the bible is very clear about sowing and reaping! (Gal6:7) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. So lets take a look at the word grace in this verse.

The Hebrew word for grace here is : χάρις – charis, prounouced as khar’-ece
and it means : graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): – acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy). Now that just took the wind out of my sails! Look at that, especially the divine influence upon the heart! Beloved we can’t let our words be without grace any longer. We are influencing someones heart! We can add joy to someones life simply by using graceful words!

Now I don’t know about you, but that is the kind of woman I want to be! I want to leave people feeling so encouraged and joyful! I want people to think about me as the woman with graceful words! There are enough hateful and heart breaking words in this world. We as woman of God need to make a difference, and not be the ones who causes hurt and pain in other people’s lives. Yes sometimes we may see someone doing something wrong, but then lets rather go pray for that person than starting a nice juicy story. (1John 5:16a If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life)(ESV) If we want to see a change around us, then it’s up to us to make that change, starting at our words!

Beloved I want to encourage you today, choose to become a woman of grace! Go and make a difference for the Kingdom of God!

God Bless You!

Be Still!

Be Still.jpg

Exodus 14:14 (NIV)

14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Beloved when we look at the scene preceding this scripture, we are taken to where Israel was caught between the armies of Pharaoh and the red sea. They were angry and complaining to Moses. They were murmuring tremendously! If we look at Merriam -Webster’s dictionary murmuring means speech that is not clear enough to be understood.

So can you imagine what Moses must have been feeling, and how it must have sounded, if round about 2.4 million people (woman and children included) started to murmur before the man of God. Even more so, how did it sound like to God? He just performed amazing signs and wonders in Egypt and here are the people who witnessed it all standing around and complaining.

But God knew the implication of negative speech, therefore He said to Moses to tell the people who the Lord God will fight for them, but they must be still! Look at Proverbs 18:21 for a moment. Pro 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (KJV) You see beloved, if we can learn to rather stay silent when we are caught in between two situations. Then God can move mightily and do wonders for us. He will go before us and fight for us.

When we are faced with troubles surrounding us on all sides. And we can be still and trust God that He will fight for us, then we are sure of a victorious outcome. If however we start complaining and murmuring then things can go wrong very quickly. And as proverbs said, we will eat the fruit of what we have spoken. Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.“(NIV)

So today I want to encourage you dear beloved, don’t let the words of your mouth ruin the amazing things God wants to do in your life. He is in control just trust Him. It may not seem easy or even possible if you are in a very bad place. Remember God is not a man that He should lie! Numbers 23:19 (NKJV)“God is not a man, that He should lie,Nor a son of man, that He should repent.Has He said, and will He not do?Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Surely God will do what He has promised! Just keep your focus on Him, keep silent and know that HE is GOD!

God Bless You!

Choose the good part!

Mary sitting at the feet of Jeus

Luk 10:40  But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
Luk 10:41  And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
Luk 10:42  But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

We all know this scripture very well I’m sure. I want to stand still today at verse 42. We know that Martha was very busy serving the people who gathered at their home. She was a very good hostess, and she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. And that is a very noble attitude to have. Like me I’m sure most of us ladies also wants to be good at hosting people at our homes. But I want to stand still at verse 42 for a while.

We see here that Mary left her sister Martha to serve alone, she just went and sat at the feet of Jesus. Now this tells me something about her. You see beloved, she knew something Martha did not know. We as women are always busy, with the kids, the house hold, our careers and so on. We can also be busy at our local church. Serving on the sisters forums, being a sunday school teacher. Whatever the case may be. And that is all good and well but..

Listen to what Jesus said to Martha Luk 10:42  But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. ONE  thing is NEEDFUL, and Mary had chosen the good part. Only one thing beloved. You see I think Mary knew the value that there was in sitting at the Master’s feet. She knew that everything she would need for that day, could be found there. She knew that His presence was enough to sustain her.

We have a song we sing in our church, in the presence of the Lord there is peace, in the presence of the Lord there is joy, in the presence of the Lord there is healing. You see, sometimes we get so busy with doing good deeds, that we forget the ONE thing that is NEEDFUl, and that is to sit at the feet of Jesus, in His presence and just soak in everything He has prepared for us for the day.

And yes in a busy world that sounds like something that no one has time for anymore, and God knew how things would become in our lives that is why He said in His word in Eph 5:16  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. The Amplified bible says it like this: Eph 5:16(AMP)16 [a]making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. You see beloved, we are urged here to make the most of our time.

I truly believe that if we can manage just to sit at the feet of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ every day, even if it is only for a while. We will be choosing the good part. The part where you will be restored, renewed and filled with new hope. The part where the things of this world just fades away in the glorious presence of the Almighty. The part where depression and sickness has to flee and sin has to die! And remember the last part of verse 42. Jesus said that it will not be taken away from herYes! I also believe that choosing that good part means that nothing you received while you were sitting at His feet will be taken away from you!

Beloved I want to encourage you today to choose the good part!

God Bless You!

Praise and worship breaks chains!

Act 16:25  And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
Act 16:26  And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

Beloved I want to share with you the power there is in worship. As we look at the scripture in Acts we see that Paul and Silas prayed and sang songs of praises unto God. Now we know that they were in chains at that stage, sitting in a prison.

It must not have been the best experience they had. And they were certainly not at a place of comfort! But they knew the power of God, and they knew that praising and worshiping Him in the hardest places can bring forth a mighty move of the Lord.

Our walk with God is not always on the top of the mountains, sometimes we walk through valleys too. You see, it is so easy to get discourage in our valley or prison seasons, that we sometimes forget that God is still there. Sometimes life hits us so hard that we don’t even know if it is worth it to keep on serving God, and I know! I’ve been there myself.

But as we read the word of God we see that it is so important for us to never lose our hope in Christ Jesus. Yes, when life gets hard and circumstances press, that is the time to let go of ourselves and start worshiping and praising God.

Note what happened as they were singing, the prison were shaken and all the doors were opened and every ones bands were loosed. You see if you start to praise and worship God He will not only show up. He will set you and every one around you free!

Now that is something to get super excited about! You see if the devil can just keep you from entering into praise and worship, he can hinder more than your own breakthrough. And that is why that voice in our heads keep telling us that we can’t worship or praise God, because of this or that. Don’t listen to that voice beloved! God wants to set you free! He wants to enter your situation with power!

I want to encourage you today, never stop praising and worshiping God. There is power in praise and worship! No matter where you are in your life, no matter how great your battle may be.  Remember Paul and Silas was in prison! You may be in a spiritual or emotional prison today. But do not lose heart! Start singing those gospel songs. Quote the word of God, let faith arise in your heart! And watch as those chains start to fall off!

God Bless you!IMG-20180504-WA0019
